Elbert Gordon Duzan , Sr., 86, Prospect Hill, NC, formerly Linwood, Ks., passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted the Rev. Mike Whitt of the New Life Independent Baptist Church, Roxboro, NC, at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Joseph A. Butler & Son Funeral Home, 19th & Minnesota Ave., KCK. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, KCK. Friends may call Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Visitation and funeral services were conducted on August 10th and 11th in Roxboro, NC, by Rev. Whitt and the Brooks and White Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials to New Life Independent Baptist Church, 6413 Burlington Rd., Hurdle Mills, NC 27541, where he was a deacon.

Mr. Duzan was born in Nashville, MO to Charles Elwood Duzan and Leota Glady (Tener) Duzan and served with US Army during WWII. He was retired from Milgram's Grocery.

Mr. Duzan was preceded in death by a daughter, Lawana Howard. He leaves his wife of 69 years, Matilda E. Brown Duzan; two children, Karen (Stephen) Oestreicher, Prospect Hill and Elbert Gordon Duzan, Jr., Tonganoxie, KS; three sisters, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
