Lois Kraynak, who helped found the Allen Park Symphony, died at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, MI, of heart disease at the age of 78.Mrs. Kraynak was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, moved to Allen Park in 1953.Known as Aunt Lois to friends and family. Mrs. Kraynak was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader and member of the Christian Mothers, of St.Cyrill Church in Taylor, MI. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church in Dearborn.
Besides her work during the formative years of the Allen Park Symphony, Mrs. Kraynak helped run an office out of her basement for the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association for more than 15 years. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Edward, a daughter, Rita Constankis, a son, Byron, and three grandchildren, and a sister. Thank you Lois for always sharing your wisdom with me, you were a true lady in every sense.
