Missionary Who Died While Serving

Sister Chamberlain was born in Spokane, Wash., to Alva Dunford and Ruth Beach Greene. She has served as Relief Society president and counselor, gospel doctrine instructor, companion to her husband in Canada, and Relief Society board member. Marjorie Greene Chamberlain, 58, died Sept. 2, 2000, in Nauvoo, Ill., while serving with her husband, Elder Wayne Chamberlain, on a public affairs mission. Sister Chamberlain had served three full-time missions: in the Canada Calgary Mission with her husband as he presided as mission president from 1976-1979, at the Los Angeles Temple Visitors Center from 1998-2000, and in Nauvoo, where she and her husband had been serving since July 31 of this year.(Obituary: Published: LDS Church News, Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000)

She married F. Wayne Chamberlain (60) who was born in Salt Lake City to Royal Reward and Farel Emma Knudson Chamberlain. They are the parents of five children and are members of the Northridge Ward, Sandy Utah Crescent Stake.
