Age 45 of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 1996. He was born on June 18, 1951 in Bell County, Texas, the son of Clifford and Naomi (Webster) Bowen. He was a Portage resident for 2 year, formerly of Lyons, Illinois. He was married on August 23, 1986 to Claudia Chancey. He was employed as a truck driver for Mld Way Airfreight. He received his GED and went to college for 2 years majoring in Child Psychology and Marriage Counseling. He worked with organizations that helped with POW's and veterans, he was a member of the Forrester's. He also was ministering and helping with abused and battered children and feeding the homeless. Surviving are his wife, Claudia of Portage; daughters, Amanda Lee Sepollo of Lyons, Illinois, Donna (Danny) Calmbacher of South Haven and Cherlyn Bowen of Houston, Texas; parents, Clifford and Naomi Bowen of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Corbin, Heather Rose, Courtney and Devin; brothers, Lester Bowen and Larry (Cassandra) Bowen both of Houston, Texas; in-laws Claude and Ruth Chancey; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandson, Danny Calmbacher, sister, Anna Bowen and brother Clifford Bowen. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 20, 1996n at 2 pm at the Engel Funeral Home with Pastor Dana Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Blake Cemetery.
