BETTENDORF Ronnie Presson, 60, of Bettendorf, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Trinity Moline. There will be no services. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at the Runge Mortuary. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at
Ronnie was born on February 12, 1951, in Rock Island, Ill., the son of Norman Dell and Wanda Jean (Hill) Presson. He married Mary Ferguson on April 22, 1972, in Bettendorf, Iowa.
He worked at Titan Wheel as supervisor for 30 years and was working at JL Brady Company at the time of his death.
He excelled in high school sports football, basketball, track and baseball and attended the University of Iowa and played football for two years with the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1969-1971. Ronnie also played in numerous softball leagues in the Quad-Cities.
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Ciara, Lanie, Josh, Katie and Collin, and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and the ponies.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, Bettendorf; sons, Michael (Jennifer) Presson, LeClaire, Iowa, and Mark (Lexi) Presson, Davenport; five grandchildren; twin brother, Donnie Presson, Welton, Iowa; three nieces, Jessica, Elisha and Sarah; and nephew, Alex.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron was a classmate of mine. He would always do things to make everyone laugh. He had a good heart and was a true friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. 
Cremated, Location of ashes is unknown.
