KNOX CITY, Texas--P. Ozelle Kilgore, 82, of Benjamin, Texas, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997 in a San Angelo, Texas, hospital.
Services will be a 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church of Benjamin with the Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Burial will be in Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Knox City.
Mrs. Kilgore was born 1 Jan. 1915 in Hollister, Oklahoma. She and Willard Kilgore were married in 1938, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and had lived most of her life in Benjamin. SHe was a member of the Sorosis Club and the First Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Galen of Benjamin and Gerald of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Willa Cunningham of San Angelo and Barbara Ann of Los Angeles; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

THE J. F. DRAPER FAMILY, by Ozelle Draper Kilgore

James Franklin Draper, born August 20, 1871, in Jack County, Texas, was married to Mary Belle Jonas on September 10, 1895, at the James M. Jonas family home on Salt Creek, Jack County, Texas by minister Mr. Martin.

James Franklin (Frank) was the son of B. Frank and Margaret J. Markell Draper of Jack County, Texas. B. F. was born in Smith County, Tennessee, in 1825 and was a veteran of the Mexican War. He was the first volunteer at Carthage, Tennessee in 1846 for the Mexican War. His father, William Draper, born 1798, is mentioned in the book, "Draper Families in America", published by Cookville, Tennessee College.

J. Frank and Mary Belle Draper moved to Knox County in 1917 from Tillman County, Oklahoma, where he was farmer. They camped out the first night around Eldorado, Oklahoma; they settled about seven miles northwest of Munday in Sunset community. Frank Draper served as a trustee of Sunset School during the 1930's. Some of their neighbors were N. S. Kilgore, Walter Almonrode, Matthews, Glass family, Andrew Geeberts, Clayborns, A. N. Russell, and others.

(deceased) married Helen Yoakum; Earl F. (deceased) married Lena Horseman; Leslie J. married Mildred Sparks; Clinton C. married Opal S. Ward; Mildred I. married Cecil Fitzgerald; Ozelle married Willard Kilgore; Evelyn married Woodrow Roberts; and Glen married Jesse B. Cranfill.
