Ruth J. Hrivnak, 87, of Cabot, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Township. Born Aug. 20, 1927, in Tarentum, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Simonides) Hrivnak. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brackenridge. Prior to her retirement in 1987, she had worked in the accounts payable department of Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge and Pittsburgh, for 40 years. She was also a member of the Sokol Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and going to her camp. Survivors include a brother, John Hrivnak (Carol), of Doylestown, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Anne Ridgely, Josephine Shutts and Mary Novak; a brother, Joseph Hrivnak, who was killed in World War II; and her friend of 40 years, Joseph Ribka. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brackenridge, with the Rev. Jerome Panzierau, her pastor, officiating. Interment in Mt.
