MONONA - Holly Rose Payas, age 14, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.
She was born on July 30, 1997, the daughter of David and Sandra (Brown) Payas. Holly attended Monona Grove High School, where she was a freshman. She participated in volleyball, soccer, swimming, art, orchestra, and her favorite subject was math. Holly loved fishing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, and any other outdoor adventure she could find. She could never pass up the challenge of a good climbing tree. Holly also enjoyed Fort Wilderness youth camps and volunteering in Awana at Door Creek Church.
She is survived by her parents, David and Sandra; sisters, Dayna and Emily; brother, Benjamin; paternal grandparents, Paul Payas and Connie Payas; maternal grandparents, Joyce Brown (Gary Hendrickson); aunts, Collette (Jeff) Cass, Lesa (Jeff) Arnold and Susan Franke; uncles, Robert (Debbie) Brown, Jeffrey (Joanne) Brown and Richard (Teri) Boyce; and cousins, Katie, Tyler, Austin, Griffin, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Krista, Kayla, Sarah, Bailey, Bricken, Brittany, Jeanette and Les. She will also be missed by her four-legged buddies, Rudy and Kyler. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Thomas A. Brown.
Funeral services will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012.
