Stephen Handy Brown, age 24, passed away on May 19, 2011. Although his body succumbed to metastatic Ewing's sarcoma, his spirit was not diminished. His patience, resilience, and courage during his seven-year struggle were an inspiration.
Born December 25, 1986 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Steve was truly an amazing person. He had a lifelong love of learning, reading well at age three. He was particularly known for his ability with computers, winning a national award at age ten.
Among his proudest accomplishments were receiving the Hinckley Presidential Scholarship at BYU and graduating with honors in physics, and marrying his sweetheart Tiffanie Kimball.
He was pursuing a PhD in physics at the University of Maryland. Most of all, Steve will be remembered for his continual eagerness to help others and his unwavering optimism.
He is survived by his wife Tiffanie, parents Blaine and Karen Brown, and siblings David (Laura), Kristen (William Meservy), Heather, Catherine, and Eric. We await a reunion with our husband, son, and brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 24, 2011 in the Edgemont Stake Center, 303 West 3700 North, Provo, with interment at the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden to follow.
