STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Ann M. Ducommun, 58, of Storm Lake died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at her residence.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Afton Cemetery, near Cherokee. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Sliefert-Asmus Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Ann Marie Ducommun was born Nov. 18, 1944, in Cherokee. She was born the second of five children to Clair and Marjory (Ware) Ducommun. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John United Church of Christ in Peterson, Iowa. She graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1962. She received her LPN degree from Clarinda School of Practical Nursing. She received her RN degree from St. Joseph School in Nursing in Sioux City. Being a nurse was something she loved doing and it was a job she did so well.

On Feb. 14, 1995, she was united in marriage to George Hueschen in Storm Lake. They made their home in Storm Lake, where she loved to garden and grew the most beautiful flowers. She found great pleasure in watching sunrises and sunsets on the lake and the out of doors was important to her. In addition, she also enjoyed collecting owls, reading and doing for and helping others. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who loved her.

She is survived by her husband, George Hueschen of Storm Lake; her father, Clair Ducommun of Storm Lake; two brothers, Forest Ducommun and his wife, Janet, and Don Ducommun, all of Neosho, Mo.; a sister, Julie Ducommun and her special friend, Ron Holmberg, of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Robin Ducommun of Roanoke, Va.; eight nieces and nephews, Shane Ducommun and his wife, Shin Jung, Lisa McGrath and her husband, Jim, Angela Ducommun, Travis Ducommun, Boone Ducommun, Ronni Jean Ducommun, Marjory Ducommun and Bobby Ducommun; a great-nephew, Caelan Kim Ducommun; a great-niece, Addison Claire Marie McGrath; and honorary children, Kristina, Carrie and Jeff Stief.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjory Ducommun; and a brother, Ron Ducommun.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center - Women's Center and Cancer Research in Storm Lake.
