| Birth: | Feb. 3, 1940, Sweden | | Death: | Feb. 1, 2013 |  Hans was born in Stockholm, Sweden on February 3, 1940 and passed away February 1, 2013. He resided in Hemet, CA for the last 13 years, moving here from Washington state. Hans started his working career at the age of 16 with his uncle in the plumbing industry. He moved to Prince Rupert, Canada on a work program, then to the Seattle, WA area in 1968 where he worked and started his own plumbing business, "Skandia Plumbing and Heating". After 12 years, he accepted employment with other companies. He became a naturalized citizen in June 1975. Hans was raised as a Master Mason in 1976 and joined Nile Shriners 1977 in Seattle, WA, where he achieved the high position of Potentate in 1998. He had been active in many clubs and units, serving as President of many. When he moved to California, Hans became active in El Bekal Shrine Anaheim, CA and Al Bahr Shrine, San Diego, CA. His last achievement was Director of the Long Beach Jesters #161. He enjoyed the Pacific Northwest with his love of boating and salmon fishing. In California, his recreation time was spent traveling in the motorhome and belonging to several RV clubs. Hans is survived by his wife of 25 years, Priscilla, and three stepchildren: Art Svendsen, Greta Hobbs and Eric Svendsen. Services will be held Sunday, Feb. 24th at 2:00 pm at: Trinity Lutheran Church, 191 S. Columbia Ave., Hemet, CA 92544. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Hans and supporting children at Shriners Hospitals may be made to: Grand Council LOSNA Foundation, 301 Thorn Hill Pl, Sun City Center, FL 33573 (501c3 tax deductible), or the charity of your choice.
