OJINAGA, MEXICO -- A web journalist situated just south of the West Texas border has been shot to death.
The Big Bend Sentinel reports that Jaime Guadalupe Gonazalez Dominguez was shot to death on an Ojinaga, Mexico street on March 3rd.
Several gunmen reportedly attacked Gonzalez Dominguez -- shooting him at least 18 times.
A gunman also stole Gonzalez Dominguez's camera during the incident.
The story of Gonzalez Dominguez's assassination was posted on the website that Gonzalez Dominguez, 38, had worked for.
The authors of the story said the shooting would mean the end of the publication (which covered general news in Ojinaga).
Mexico has seen a rise in violence towards journalists in recent years, as the nation's battle with drug cartels has intensified.
