Elizaida C. Valdez, age 84, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday, December 2, 2012. Elizaida was born in La Jara, NM and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM, where she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Elizaida was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arturo Valdez and a son, Fred Saiz. Elizaida is survived by her loving children, Theresa Saiz and her companion Daniel, Johnny Valdez and his wife, Terri, Dolores Valdez and Barbara Valdez and her husband Juan, eight grandchildren, Pam, Debbie, Fred, Annette, Robbie Ann and her husband, Maurice, Gabriel, Johnny Jr., and Anne Marie, 17 great-grandchildren, including special grandson Isaiah, one brother, Nestor Chavez; ex-daughter-in-law, Rita Valdez and numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her special four legged loyal companion, "Baby" her puppy. Elizaida will be greatly missed by all. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, NM, where the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ra'id Muhammad, Maurice Muhammad, Siddiq Muhammad, Johnny Valdez, Gabriel Valdez, and Fred Valdez. Honorary Bearer will be Isaiah R. Wright.
