SPARKS, Okla. -- Maynard Leroy Avery, 83, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 1999) at his home near Sparks, Okla. He was the bother-in-law of Ellen Koehn of Newton.

He was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Oklahoma City to Gethfred and Alma (Hedrick) Avery. He married Angie Vie Hill Oct. 3, 1936. She survives of Sparks.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Clara May Mitchell of Wyoming; two sons, Marshall Lee Avery of Depew, Okla., and Randell Boyce Avery of Wisconsin; one brother, Orville Avery of Oklahoma City; one sister, Edith Durant of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; one sister; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services were Wednesday at White Doves Cemetery in Sparks with the Rev. Ron Walker officiating.

Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler, Okla., was in charge of the arrangements.
