Emily Baker is my great-grandmother. The State of Oklahoma did not have a certificate of death on record, so I spent about five years trying to verify the location of her grave site. I finally had a chance to visit with my last living uncle earlier this year and he told me where her grave was located. Said she is in Wells Valley Cemetery near Bromide, Oklahoma - go through the gate (this is the old gate, not the main one being used today), take a sharp angle to to the left and walk about 100 feet. I found the site easily with these directions. I sat at the foot of her grave for awhile enjoying the peaceful surroundings, happy that we had finally been united.

My uncle noted her tombstone was made out of native stone by her son, Elmer Frances Baker (he is buried in Tishomingo). In fact, if you look closely at the photo you will notice the "n" in born is backwards, which I think adds to the charm. He also stated that Emily had gone to bed one night with two of her children and the next morning she was found dead. She died on her fiftieth birthday. [RB-July 2011]
