Obituary:
Russell D. Anderson, 86, longtime resident of Okmulgee and Morris, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was born June 8, 1924 in Edmore, North Dakota to John and Clara Anderson. A World War II Veteran, he was a grocery clerk and butcher. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lyle and Virgil and three sisters, Jeanette, Inez and Geraldine and a grandson Darren Giles. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty, and four children, Allen Anderson and wife Judy of Broken Arrow, Janice Hurt and husband Jim of Morris, Royce Ann Henderson and husband David of Kennett, Missouri and Doug Anderson of Cushing. He is also survived by two sisters, Marlene Klein and Donna Lennon of North Dakota, eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Friday, August 6, 2010 at the United Pentecostal Church of Morris, where Russell was a longtime member, with Reverend Gary Howard and Reverend Elroy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home from 2-8 P.M. and the family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday evening at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Morris.
