Obituary from the "Republican" of Perry, Oklahoma dated 1 Feb 1907:
Again the Angel of Death has passed this way and taken a mother. Mrs. Amelia R. Bullis, aged 70 years, 2 months and 27 days, was found dead in her bed the morning of Jan. 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cal Hambilus of Lucien, having retired the night before seemingly in good health passed away some time in the night. She leaves three daughters and a number of other relatives besides a host of friends to mourn her loss. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. The funeral services were held in Lawnview church, the sermon being preached by the writer from the three first verses of the 14th chapter of St. John. The remains were laid to rest in Lawnview cemetery Jan. 27, six miles southeast of Lucien. She was converted in June 1906 to the Holiness faith.
She believed in a full and free salvation and has gone to claim her reward. Weep not children mother is only sleeping; sleeping in the arms of Jesus only one more angel beckoning you to God; only one more tie on that Golden shore. Sweetly resting and waiting for you there, free from all pain, sorrow and care.
