Graveside services for former Snyder resident Lee Allen (Smokey) Adams, 82, Oklahoma City will be at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Fairlawn cemetery, Snyder, with Scott Bulmer, Minister of the Oakcrest Church of Christ, Oklahoma City officiating.

Mr. Adams died Monday at his home in Oklahoma City.

He was born February 28, 1924 in Loveland, Oklahoma to A.B. and Bedie (Boaldin) Adams. He moved to Snyder at the age of four, and graduated from Snyder High School in 1943. He married Johnnie Mae Magee on May 23, 1943 in Manitou, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. In his early years he was a dairyman and farmer and later retired as a union electrician and a home builder.

He is survived by his wife Johnnie Mae of the home, and a daughter Joan Pierce and her husband Mike of Oklahoma City, two grandchildren Jennifer Sokolosky and her husband Brad of Edmond, OK and Mark Pierce and his wife Cathy of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by 7 great granddaughters, Elizabeth, Dylan, Payton, Lola, Gracie, Killian and McKenna. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mae McKinney, and three brothers Plaz, Blaine and Jim.
