Arlene Elizabeth Alexander, 78, of Elgin, Oklahoma was called home by the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2016, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Arlene was born May 18, 1937 in Binger, Oklahoma to Joseph Vincent (J.V.) and Bertha Ines (Adams) Rudisill. Arlene was working in Oklahoma City when she married Neal E. Alexander on July 3, 1958 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Being a military family, they spent much of their married life moving from Air Force base to Air Force base. She made every new house a home, and devoted her time to raising their children. After Neal's retirement, they made their home in Gracemont, where they resided until moving to Elgin in 2002. She had a sharp mind and quick wit. She excelled at crossword puzzles and cryptograms, had an interest in genealogy, and was a sports fanatic. But her true love, pride, and joy was her grandchildren. Arlene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Neal Alexander, of the home; son, Buddy Alexander and wife, Terri of Anadarko; 2 daughters: Dee Schendel and husband, Paul of Choctaw and Tami Alexander of Elgin; 3 grandchildren: Jackson Alexander and wife, Amy of Cabot, Arkansas, Amanda Schendel and Alex Schendel of Choctaw, and many loving friends.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lester Rudisill.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Murray Cemetery in Binger, Oklahoma. Rev. Richard Cox will officiate. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
