James Vernon Brannon, 86, a Walker resident for three years, died on Sept. 4 at his home.

A graveside service was held yesterday, Sept. 8, at Antelope Valley Cemetery in Coleville, Calif. Rev. Kenneth H. Hotchkiss officiated.

Mr. Brannon was born on Oct. 22, 1913, in Mountain View, Okla.

He loved his family and the outdoors, and fishing and hunting were his lifelong hobbies.

Survivors include his wife Amy K. Brannon of Walker; daughters Kathy Mandichak and Sue Carpenter, both of Walker; grandchildren Cindy White and Bob Carpenter, both of Walker, Connie Helms of Gardnerville and Jim Thompson of Spearfish, S.D.; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Brune & Buck Mortuary in Bishop.
