Billie Sue Abbott, 71, 1309 Weed Lane, Vincennes, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at, Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born Feb. 9, 1938, in Knox County, to William and Laura (Midkiff) Lucas.
Billie was a member of the Southside Presbyterian Church where she was involved in the Mary Martha organization. She retired from Hamilton Glass after 22 years and enjoyed sewing, knitting and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Abbott, whom she married June 23, 1984; two daughters, Becky Sheppard and Marilyn Gregory; two sons, Wayne Bilskie and John Bilskie; three stepchildren, Daleta Perone, Darlene Stoltz, and Roy Abbott; ten grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Lucille Hallett of Las Vegas, and one brother, Dale Lucas of Indianapolis.
Preceding Billie Sue in death were her parents; two brothers, Ward Durham and Bill "Tank" Lucas; and one sister, Virginia "Tiny" Robb.
The funeral was held at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., with the Rev. George Ford officiating.
Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.
