Barbara Jean (Johnson) Ahlert, 73, Vincennes, passed away Friday February 7, 2014 at The Lodge of the Wabash. Barbara was born October 29, 1940, in Knox county, the daughter of John and Maude Bateman. She married John Ahlert, and he passed in December 2008. She retired as a clerk from American Family Insurance. Barbara is survived by her son, Paul "Butch" Trent of Vincennes; step-daughter, Angela Windle of Vincennes; grandchildren, Dana France of Michigan, Shana Walton and her husband Jess of Robinson, IL, and Jagger Windle of Knox county, IN; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Matteson of Washington; and sister-in-law Vickie Horne of Elberfeld, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John; daughter Barbara Elmore; and nephew Michael Horne. The family will receive friends on Sunday February 9, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 10, 2014 at 1:30 PM also at the funeral home.
