Dede Adams passed away peacefully on Monday November 12th, 2012. Her unconditional love was felt by all those whose path she crossed. She truly was a woman of joy, warmth and generosity of spirit.
Dede was born in New York and graduated from Carnegie- Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she earned a degree in retail merchandising. While attending Carnegie-Mellon, she met her husband, George Adams who she remained married to until his passing in 2001.
Early in their marriage, they adopted two girls who quickly became the absolute joy of her life. Early family life was spent in Flossmoor, Illinois. After that the family moved to Toronto, Canada and then London, England where she delighted in the joy of watching her daughters experience many different aspects of life overseas.
From London, they moved to Westport, Connecticut where the girls immersed themselves in high school and Dede became a permanent fixture on the Fairfield Country Club golf course.
When the girls left for college, Dede's days were filled with traveling, golfing, knitting caps for soldiers, and doting on her girls from afar. She spent the next twenty years on Seabrook Island, South Carolina where she enjoyed the beach, golf, and her friends.
In November 1990, Dede's life changed forever. The first of four grandsons were born and her love for life and those children grew exponentially. They truly were the light of her life and her desire to make their lives better each day was palpable.
Her final years were spent happily living in Rossmoor where she was able to develop precious, heartfelt friendships. She was a constant source of joy in the boys lives and they to her. She also made frequent visits each year to North Carolina to be with her daughter Maria (Mia).
Dede is survived by her devoted daughters; Lisa Adams Ertz (Alamo, California), and Maria Felicia Adams (Charlotte, North Carolina); sister, Alberta Monahan (Phoenix, Arizona) and grandsons, Zachary, Shane, Nicolas, and Jackson in addition to so many others who considered her their "Dede".
Friends and family are invited to the celebration of her life on Monday, November 19th 2012 at 11:00 am at Saint Anne's Church in Rossmoor. All are welcome at a reception immediately following the service at 41 Vernal Court in Alamo.

But rejoice that she was"
