Eva C. Bywater
WILLOWS – Services will be held Wednesday morning for Eva C. Bywater of Willows, who died Sunday in Glenn General Hospital.
Mrs. Bywater has been a resident of Glenn County for over 75 years and was born in Shasta County February 11, 1884.
She is survived by three sons, Vernon [and] James Cooper of Willows; and Kenneth Cooper of Red Bluff; one daughter Mrs. Glenn Minard, of Roseville; one sister Anna Howe of Montgomery Creek; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and the American War mothers.
Services will be in the chapel at F.D. Sweet and Sons Mortuary in [sic] 10 a.m. with burial following at Millsaps Cemetery in Chrome, near Elk Creek. - Transcribed by E.

Eva (Armstrong) Cooper Hull Bywater, 89, b. Shasta County, Feb. 11, 1884. d. Willows, Aug. 26, 1973.
A daughter of pioneer parents, Jerome F. and Eliza J. Armstrong, Eva came to Chrome, Glenn County at the age of 15, making her home with Aura Burrows. Two years later in 1901 she married Louis E. Cooper, grandson of pioneer settler George W. Millsaps. After being widowed she was married in 1942 to Herbert P. Hull, grandson of Cyrus B. Hull, whose account of his hardships in crossing the plains to California have been published in Wagon Wheels and elsewhere. Widowed once again she married Harold Bywater who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bywater, after leaving the Chrome area was a resident first of Orland and then of Willows. She was an active member of the American War Mothers and of the Nazarene Church. She was an excellent source of local pioneer history and contributed several articles to Wagon Wheels. (See Vol. XII, No. 2 and Vol. XV, No. 2).
Surviving her are a daughter, Loleta Minard of Roseville; three sons, Vernon and James Cooper of Willows and Kenneth Cooper of Red Bluff; a sister, Anna Howe of Montgomery Creek; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of F. D. Sweet and Son with burial in the Millsaps Cemetery in Chrome. - Transcribed by M.
