Elizabeth Addy The foster mother of more than 25 children, and mother of six, Elizabeth Clara Addy, 71, died Jan. 19 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee, Port Washington. Mrs. Addy made her home at 138 N. Park St., Port Washington.
A memorial mass was held Saturday, Jan. 23 at St. Mary’s Church, Port Washington. Father Tom Biersack officiated. Interment was St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington.
Mrs. Addy was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Detroit Mich. to Fred and Clara Nueman Schneider. On June 1, 1942, she and Joseph Addy were married in Detroit. Mr. Addy died Nov. 15, 1992.
The couple moved to Port Washington in the 1950’s. She was employed at Brill’s in Bay Shore Mall for 10 years as a sales clerk. She worked at Power Products-Techumseh in Grafton for 11 years as a secretary in the Warranty Department. For the past two years, she was employed at Walmart, in Saukville.
In addition to her work as a foster mother, and mother of her own children, Mrs. Addy enjoyed traveling and tending her garden.
Her family described her as someone who found good in everyone and everything.
Mrs. Addy is survived by her five daughters and one son, Alice Hamilton, Holcomb, Kans., Mary Lou Neuens, Milwaukee, Barbara Schwartz, Port Washington, Jo Ann Page, Milwaukee, Terry, Port Washington, and Tom of Saukville. She is survived by seven grandchildren.
He husband, a brother, and her parents preceded her in death.
