Peter Berens Of Artois Dies
Peter V. Berens, 85, pioneer Artois resident, died there yesterday at the home of his son, Lenus. He came to Glenn County when he was 4 years old with ihs [sic] parents from his birthplace in Tateing [sic], Germany.
Payers [sic] services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Sweet & Soon [sic] Funeral home, followed by services at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church in Artois. Burial will be in the family plot in Artois cemetery. The Rev. C. A. Pickelman officiate.
In addition to his son, he leaves a daughter, Leona Taylor of Biggs; and three brothers; Johannes and Claus, both of Artois and Emiel of Los Molinos, in addition to eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. - Transcribed by E.

Prayer services wehe [sic] held today at 1:30 p.m. for Peter V. Berens, pioneer Artois resident who died Tuesday, in the F.D. Sweet and Son chapel in Willows, followed by 2 o'clock services in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Artois with the Rev. C. A. Pickelman officiating.
Pallbearers were Gus Lohse, Arthur Lohse, Arthur Pieper Sr., Chris von Bargen, Emmett Heidrick, and Wright Callender.
Interment was in the Artois Cemetery.
