"Sweet Genevieve" MURRAY, UT - Genevieve "Gen" Adams, dearest mother, grand-mother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on September 12, 2002 at the age of 87. Through our tears and sorrow we rejoice in the beautiful reunion now taking place with her dear companion, Bill, her son, Bill, her daughter, Lisa Michele, parents, and other loved ones who have preceded her in death.
Gen was born April 24, 1915 on a farm in Centralia, NY to Harry and Ethel Brevoort. The oldest of three children, she learned early to work hard and never complain. In 1935 Gen married William H. Adams in Centralia, NY. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George Temple in 1946. They shared 65 years together until November, 2000 when Bill preceded her in death. Their home was blessed with seven children who were dearly loved. Gen and Bill lived in western NY state until a few years after their conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They then packed up all their belongings and moved to Utah. Gen "blossomed" in the Church and spent her life in service to her family and friends, serving in positions of leadership in both her ward and stake. Among many other things her service included working with unwed mothers in the LDS Family Services program and guiding tours at the Church Office Building for ten years. In 1979 Gen and Bill served a mission as directors of the Nauvoo Visitor's Center in Nauvoo, Illinois. Her hands were never idle, but always doing something for someone else. Her children praise and give honor to her. Her grandchildren adore her, and all who knew her were blessed by the great example she gave of living a Christ like life.
Gen is survived by her sons David (Bonnie), Dan (Anne), Mark (Sharon), and daughters Julia Lawson, Naomi Sumsion (Robert), sister Louise Poda, brother Willis (Lillian), 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Bill (Danelle), and daughter Lisa Michele.

Funeral services will be held Tues. 12:00 noon, Sept. 17, 2002 at the Park Ward, 435 E. 5600 S. Friends may call Mon. 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St. and Tues. one hr. prior to services at the church. Interment Elysian Burial Gardens.
