Gilbert R. Bendorf Keno Supervisor – Carson City

Visitation for Gilbert Russel Bendorf, 48, who died Saturday at his residence, is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley Cemetery and Mausoleum. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, he was born on August 27, 1943, and had been a Carson City resident for the past 14 years, coming from San Jose, California. Bendorf graduated from high school in Omaha and the University of San Francisco. He was keno supervisor at the Carson City Nugget for the past 11 years.

Surviving are his widow, Anita Dede, stepdaughter Jodie Lowe and stepson Brian Lowe, all of Carson City; his parents Gilbert and Helen and a daughter Christy Slatter, all of Salinas, California; son Jason and Daughter Michell La Claire, both of San Diego; sister Susan Masch of Washington and three grandchildren.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, with private inurnment at Big Pine Crocker Cemetery, Big Pine, California. Cremation will be at Sierra Crematory, Reno.
