Hollis Greer married Florence West on 27 June 1935 in Aspermont, Texas.

Funeral services for Hollis A. Greer, 25, one of the eight victims of the tragedy six miles southwest of Monument, New Mexico, last Thursday when a nitro-glycerine charge was exploded prematurely at the Two States Kasemand No. 1 Hill oil well was held at Bunger Sunday afternoon. He was a gauger for the shooting crew which was preparing to shoot an oil well.

Mr. Greer had lived in New Mexico since 1936, working as a switcher for the Two States Oil Company. He had earlier lived in California, most of his life had been spent in Texas. He was married in 1935 to Miss Florene West at Graham, Texas.

Survived by wife and two small sons, Jerry Dean and Hollis Wayne; mother - Mrs. Elmira Greer of Oil Center, NM; five sisters - Mrs. Bertha Mae Isles of Bunger, Mrs. Jack Henderson of Electra, Mrs. J. A. Bills of Electra, Mrs. C. C. Jones of Bunger, and Mrs. Jack Baker of Cottonwood, AZ; half-brother - Jack Coker of Oil Center, NM. All were present for the funeral. Funeral conducted by Rev. E.W. Bridges, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Graham. Morrison Funeral Home brought the body from New Mexico and had charge of the funeral arrangements.

Among the relatives here for the funeral, in addition to members of the immediate family, were - Mr. and Mrs. Jim Zackery and family of Aspermont, Mrs. Beulah Greer of Hobbs, NM, Mike Greer and son of Aspermont, Mrs. Baker and son of Cottonwood, AZ, Mr and Mrs Don Riodon and family of Hobbs NM, and Mr and Mrs. Lewis Greer and family of Aspermont.
