Harley Ray Adcock Sr., 76, of Dayton, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at the Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.
Mr. Adcock was born June 29, 1930, in Altus, Ark., and was the son of the late Euel Richard and Etta Pearl Adcock.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Richard E. Kraus. He worked for the National Security Agency and was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the NRA and Freedom Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Pauline Adcock; two daughters, Kimberly Hurst of Edinburg and Shelly Vaughn of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; three sons, Kevin Adcock of Winston-Salem, N.C., Brian Adcock of Fredericksburg, and Harley R. Adcock Jr. of California; two sisters, Ruth McPhearson of Georgia and Jean Schoenman of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pastor Dale Goodwin will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Piedmont Chapter.
