Ruby May Alston, 70, a 14 year resident of Waterville, died Wednesday, July 29, 1992 at home.
She was born May 10, 1922, to Albert and Etta May (Wise) Walls at Hanna, Oklahoma. She was raised in Oklahoma.
She married Melvin Gooch at Durant, Oklahoma, in the late 1930s. She moved to Hughson, California in the early 1950s and married Forrest Alston on November 6, 1963 in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Loomis in 1966. She moved to Waterville after Mr. Alston died in 1978.
Survivors include two sons, William Albert Gooch of Lockford, California and John L. Gooch of Waterville; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Rozella) Thompson of Walla Walla, Mrs. Jerry (Mary Ann) Manning of Kennewick and Mrs. Ray (Zadie) Stockman of Chelan; three brothers, Joe Wall of Bridgeport, Andrew Walls of Wenatchee and Clarence Walls of Rock Island; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 pm in the Colonial Chapel of the Jones and Jones funeral home in Wenatchee. Concluding and the interment followed in the Waterville cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Waterville Ambulance Fund in her name.
Arrangements were by the Waterville Funeral Home.
