Ira O. Ackard, 71, of Millerstown RD, died Sunday, Feb. 6, at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Donnally Mills Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olive Sweger Ackard; two sons, Robert K. of Millerstown RD and Donald C. of Lemont; a daughter, Mrs. Park Hubbert of Thompsontown; a brother, Guy Ackard of Warren; his step-father, James Davis of Waterford, Ohio, and six grand children.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Feb. 9, at 2 at the funeral home on Walnut St., Newport. His former pastor, the Rev. H. Merle Saxman of the Airville Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
