"June Rose Ackermann, of Lancaster, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on March 13, 2009.
June was born on June 28, 1930, in Vidor, Texas. She was the daughter of Eugene Waterson and Barbara (Burton) Stanton.
June Rose graduated from Hotel Dieu Nursing School in Beaumont, Texas in 1950. She had 40 years of continual service as a RN, and as an adult received her Bachelor's Degree in Health Education from North Texas State University. As a wife of an Air Force officer and as a widow she lived and traveled to many places around the world, to include Japan, Australia, & Europe. When traveling in the last 20 years she was often accompanied by family and friends. All of whom share many fond memories of their trips and adventures.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 37 years, Robert Alfred Ackermann, MAJ (RET) USAF; brothers, Luther Stanton, John Stanton, David Stanton; and sister, Thelma Pruett.
Those left to cherish her memory are sister, Winnie Stanton Willey; children, Barbara Ackermann Cantu and her husband John, Robert A. Ackermann Jr., Susan Ackermann Frazer and Kathryn Ackermann Baker and her husband Michael; eleven grandchildren and ten great - grandchildren.
Interment: Jett Cemetery, Orange, Texas
