Father Tom was born on July 11, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Anna (Drzastwa) Zagorski. He entered the Conventual Franciscan Novitiate at St. Boanventure Friary in Lake Forest, Illinois, on September 4, 1944, and professed Solemn Vows on October 4, 1948. He took his philosophical studies at St. Joseph of Cupertino Friary, Ellicott City, Maryland for one year and a half and then one semester at Our Lady of Carey Seminary in Ohio. He spent two summers at St. Bonaventure University, in Olean, New York. He took Theological Studies for the priesthood under the Pontifical faculty at the Collegio Serafico in Rome and was ordained to the Priesthood on March 10, 1951, at the basilica of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Rome by the Most Reverend Luigi Cardinal Traglia, Vicegerent of Rome. In September of that year he celebrated his First Mass at his home parish of Saint Mary of Perpetual Help, Chicago, Illinois. In the forty eight years he served the Church as a priest Father Thomas was assigned as Associate Pastor at the following parishes St. Bronislava, Chicago, Illinois; St. Stanislaus Kostka, Rockford, Illinois; St. Josephat's Basilica, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; St. Thomas, Riverside, California; Queen of Angels, Riverside, California; and St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral, Reno, Nevada. He served as pastor at St. Anthony of Padua, Rockford, Illinois; St. Thomas, Riverside, California; St. John the Baptist, Lovelock, Nevada; and Immaculate Conception, New Cuyama, California. He served the sick as Chaplain at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton, California, for three years and then went as Chaplain to the imprisoned at the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo, California, for four years. Father Tom is survived by his sister Alice Kolo and her husband Casey of Guadalupe, California. He has two nieces, AnnMarie Gombus of New Hampshire and Lorraine Luebben of Appleton, Wisconsin. He also had one great-niece and one great-nephew.
