The subject of this memorial, Abraham Adams, was born in Richland County, Ohio, June 2, 1845. He was the son of Isaac and Mary Adams, and one of a family of fifteen children, there being four brothers and two sisters still living.
On April 15, 1875, and at Shelby, Ohio, he was united in marriage with Miss Jennie Bly. Their union was blessed with five children, four sons and one daughter, one son having died in infancy. In the year 1880 he and his family located in Williams County, in Northwest Township. He remained on the farm 28 years, when he moved to Columbia, where he died, January 17, 1914, at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 15 days.
In the year 1883 he and his wife were received into fellowship of the Christian Union Church at Berlin by Rev. George W. Long. He was ever loyal to the church and a faithful attendant upon his services.
He leaves to cherish his memory a lonely wife, three sons, one daughter, three daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, six grandchildren, four brothers, two sisters and a wide circle of acquaintances. Funeral services were held in the M.E. Church in Columbia, Tuesday, January 20, 1914, conducted by Rev. George W. Long, assisted by his Pastor, Rev. Daniel Stemen, and a choir of singers. Interment took place in the Columbia Cemetery.
