Lois B. Roebuck Abram, 80, died peacefully Jan. 28, 2009, at Wesley Glen Nursing Home, Columbus.
She was born June 7, 1928, in McClure to Garrison and Jocie Archer Roebuck, who preceded her in death. In 1950, she married Charles E. Abram.
Mrs. Abram had been a teacher in New Albany elementary schools and had worked with the Ohio Department of Corrections/Adult Parole Authority. She was a longtime member of Grace Brethren Church, Worthington. She was a 1946 graduate of Marion Harding High School. She received a bachelor's degree in education in August 1972 from The Ohio State University, where she graduate Summa Cum Laude. She had lived in Rockford, Defiance and Marion in her younger years. She moved with her husband to Columbus in 1950. She was a believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Survives include a daughter, Patricia (Douglas) Ault, of Bowling Green, Ky.; three granddaughters, Erin (Jason) Gross and Aimee (Mark) Scott, both of Montgomery, Ala., and Alexia Ault, of Bowling Green, Ky.; three great-grandsons; two brothers, Lamar Roebuck, of Lima, and Forest (Marlene) Roebuck, of Rockford; two sisters-in-law, Jane Roebuck and Wanda Diehr; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee (Ruby) and Virgil "Pete" Roebuck; a sister, Lucille; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby Roebuck and Sally Roebuck.
Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Grace Brethren Church, Worthington. Burial will be at a later date in Alton Cemetery.
