Juanita peacefully went home to her savior on June 6, 2008 with her family by her side at the age of 88. Juanita considered Slaton her home although she passed at Angel's Arms Assisted Living in Lubbock.

Services will be performed by Ray Perryman 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10 at Slaton's Bible Baptist Church with interment in Englewood Cemetery and under the direction of Englund's Funeral Services, also of Slaton.

Juanita was born May 15, 1920 to Floyd and Grace Jobe in Dike, and was the oldest of five children. She married Tom Hargrave in 1935 and with him, had four boys. They moved frequently but she finally settled in Slaton in 1950. She met and married W.E. Adams in 1960. She became a step-mother to W. E.'s two boys. Then, together, at the ages of 41 and 48, they had what they called their "miracle" baby, yet another boy. W.E. and Juanita were wonderful parents and together raised seven boys. They remained married for 30 years until he died May 12, 1991.

She was a lifelong cook, and enjoyed dealing with the public, especially the children. Juanita owned and operated the "School Store" across from Slaton Junior High for 11 years and always enjoyed the great memories those kids, now middle age adults, shared with her. She also owned and operated the Slaton Steak House for two years, and wow, what a wonderful cook!

Juanita was looking forward to her family that would meet her in heaven, as they preceded her in death. She was peacefully anxious to be met by her parents; both her husbands, Tom Hargrave and W. E. Adams; her beloved son, Joe Hargrave; her brother, Kenneth Jobe; and grandson, Doug Hargrave.

Juanita is survived by four sons, F.C. "Butch" Hargrave and wife Gloria, of Sulfur Springs; Kenneth Hargrave and wife Cheryl, of Brenham; Tom Hargrave and wife Nancy, of Cleburne; and Steve Adams and wife Darla, of Slaton; daughter-in-law, and widow of Joe, Jo Lynda Hargrave of Lubbock; two step sons, Charles Adams and wife Blanche, of El Paso; and Willie Adams and wife Pauline, of Borger; one brother, Roy Jobe of Sulfur Springs; two sisters, Sue Little of Sulfur Springs and Lou Woolsey of Nelta; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stetson Adams of Lubbock, grandson; Dillon Adams of Slaton, grandson; Gerry Hargrave of Lubbock, grandson; Lorenzo Hernandez of Slaton, friend; Gary Anthony of Slaton, friend; and Robert Englund of Slaton, friend.
