Mary Jo McManus Akin
(VALLEY) Mary Jo Akin, 78, of Valley died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Revs. James Harper and Fred Buchanan officiating. Burial followed in Shawmut Cemetery.
Mrs. Akin is survived by two sons, Eugene Williams of Valley and Harry Williams of Sylacauga; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Curlurla Pilkington of Valley.
Born Aug. 26, 1925, in Randolph County, Mrs. Aiken was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens Langdale Mill. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Shawmut United Methodist Church. Mrs. Aiken was the daughter of the late Ethel Virdie Moore
McManus and Joseph Edward McManus.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice in her memory.
