He was the son of Thomas Freeman and Kezie Hoxie. The grandson of Edmund Freeman III & Sarah Skiffe. The great grandson of Edmund Edward Freeman II & Margaret Perry and James Skiffe & Mary. He married Catherine Shelby.

#778 in Meckl. Co. Heritage Book. On Apr. 14, 1800 he sold land to Elizabeth Freeman, Mary Freeman, and Nancy Freeman, heirs of Claiborn who was deceased for 100 pounds a total of 100 acres to be divided equally among them. This land was located on Muddy Creek in Rocky River, the deed was witnessed by Gideon Freeman and Thomas Love, Jurat and proven July 1800.
