CLANTON, Sarah Amanda "Sallie" Mickle, 5 Aug 1836 - 26 Mar 1878.

Sarah was the wife of Maj. George Wesley Clanton.

She was born in Montgomery County Tennessee to Sarah Adams and John Caldwell Mickle.

She married Maj. Clanton in Montgomery Co TN on October 25th 1854. Thereafter they made their home in Graves County Kentucky

They were the parents of 9 children, 7 of whom lived to adulthood. They included 1 son John George "Jack" Clanton and 6 daughters one of whom was Anna Blanche Clanton who married William James Boone

Sarah Amanda was interred next to her husband Maj. George Wesley Clanton in this cemetery.

She died as a result of injuries sustained when she fell from her horse and became entangled in the stirrup.

Sarah Amanda "Sallie" is Nick & Pat Boone's GG-Grandmother.
