Michael S. "Shorty" Secatero, age 80, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. Michael was born in Alamo, NM on August 10, 1934, to Miguel and Mary Apachito Secatero. Michael was raised in Alamo and was a very hard working and generous man. Michael was a very loving and devoted family man who enjoyed hunting and especially enjoyed the time he spent camping with his family. Over the years Michael worked as a social worker, farmer, ranch hand, a law enforcement officer and pretty much a "Jack of all trades". Michael served on the Alamo Navajo School Board and was one of the first Tribal Leaders that help start the first school in Alamo. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nora P. Secatero, daughter, Lucy Secatero, sons, Stevenson Secatero and Stuart Secatero, sisters, Rita Chavez and Rosalyn Francisco and grandson, Bradley Pratt. Michael is survived by his sons, Craig Secatero and his wife, Jennifer, Greg Secatero and his wife, Trudy and Arnold Secatero and his wife, Carol, daughter, Sandra Romero and her husband, Larson, brother, William Secatero and his wife, Linda Tsosie, Billy Secatero and his wife, Martha, grandchildren, Candis, Sumer and Keona Rain Secatero, Draven Bancroft, Camille, J.W. and Gabrielle Secatero, Miranda Stanley, Hannah Romero, Shallow, Railene, Shaelyn, Cody, Stuart, Stillwell, Stephanie and Samantha Secatero, great-grandchildren, Marley Sweeney, Neveah Stanley, Chanci and Chole Pratt, Fabian and Hector Silva, Tristina Jose, Daryl Sena and Kai Key.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Word of God Church Alamo, NM. Interment to follow at the Word of God Cemetery, Alamo.
