This memorial was an "unknown" when transcribed by Arnett C. Lines (1882-1970) a Barrington historian. His visit possibly was in 1937 same time as a nearby cemetery. The stone was broken & name was illegible. Inscription: Died June 26, 1863, Age, 68 yrs., 6 mo., 3 d. His labors are at rest. Lines noted only foot stone nearby with R.B on it.

Peter was still alive in 1865 on a Cuba Township Illinois Census showing him as "P. Sweezy". Therefore death date could have been misread by Lines and the Bennett School student. Death date fitting inscription of "age 68" could only be 1868.
