Clara was survived by her daughter and caregiver Kayleen Arellano and Melvin from Española; her son Gerald (wife Darlene) of Dixon; daughter Maxine Via (husband Jerry) of Las Cruces; granddaughter Geraldine Arellano of Melbourne, Florida; grandson Allen Arellano (wife Lindsay) of Rio Rancho; two great-grandchildren: Ira and Asher Arellano; sister-in-law Laura Medina of Las Cruces; nephews: David, Danny, Robert and Joey Medina; niece Cordy Medina; and many other close friends, relatives and her daughters' pets Milagro, Pepper, Snooby and Midnight.
Clara was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She worked for the US Postal Service in Embudo for about 32 years where she retired as Postmaster in 1985. Clara was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Clara was a very kind and loving person and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. Clara's favorite activities included shopping for clothes with her daughters, going out to eat, and people-watching at the Big Rock Casino. She was very well liked and admired by the casino staff.
The Holy Rosary was recited at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dixon on 4 Oct. The funeral mass was on 5 Oct. also at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Father Kauper Cemetery in Embudo.
