Huldah is daughter of Tyra & Sarah Louisa Daggett Hutchens. She was born in either Columbia Co. or Waitsburg, Walla Walla, Washington; her parents lived in Walla Walla Co. in 1880 & in Columbia Co. in 1883. Her father Tyra was born in Surry Co., North Carolina. 1870 census shows him living with his parents in Hardin Co., Iowa. He moved to Washington Territory soon after this where he married Sarah; their eldest child was born in Walla Walla Co. in 1876. Sarah was born in Walla Walla Co., Washington; her parents emigrated to Washington Territory from Warren Co., Illinois. Huldah has 6 brothers: John Franklin, George, Chester Arthur, Oliver Glen, William B & Tyra Edmund; & 3 sisters: Essie, Minnie & Elva Dell. Huldah's parents moved to Idaho Co., Idaho per 1900 census & remained there for the rest of their lives.
