Birth: 1863
Death: Dec. 24, 1887

Amos was Delaware Indian, born in Indiana to Isaac and Eliza Smart Foreman. His Grandmother was full blooded Delaware and a member of Chief Anderson's White River Band. The family did not relocate with the tribe, but went west to Kansas and Oklahoma in 1870. They are not on any rolls.

Amos and a younger brother, Charles, were sent to the Hampton Virginia Industrial School in 1885, but Amos was sent home because he was not strong enough to work. Charles never returned to family in Oklahoma.

Amos married Emily Mizer, and I have a copy of a letter from her father confirming Amos' death.

I also obtained records from the Corp of Engineers which verified that Amos was our family member.
