A look back at the people and places of Whitewater

While driving around the country take Highway 12 to J and 20 to Adams Road then turn left. You will find Adams Cemetery across from a school building and church. This property was a parcel from Seneca and Ella Chatfield's farm.
The Chatfield's were an interesting and generous family. For years they hosted the Chatfield family reunions. Seneca dug the graves by hand for those whose families wished to bury their relatives in Adams Cemetery.
If you stop and walk around, you'll find the Chatfield's and their foster daughter, Pearl Barker's graves. There are also graves of neighbors and friends whose names you might recognize.
