San Rafael Man Drowns in Bay

Washington Eldridge Jr., 25, living with his father, Washington Eldridge, a shrimp fisherman, on a house on piles at the foot of San Rafael Creek, was drowned this morning when he fell from the porch into the water. Considerable difficulty was encountered in extricating the body from the mud underneath the building. Eldridge is said to have been subnormal and walked with difficulty. The body was removed to the morgue by Coroner J. Ray Keaton.
