DANSBEE, WILLIAM E. --died 12/16/1924

" He became a member of the Church of Christ in May of 1898, at Tonkawa, Texas where he was baptized by Robert James. He loved truth and honesty and lived as he believed before his family and neighbors.

He joined the Masonic Order in 1910 and completed the Royal Arch degree at the Rockhouse Lodge of Hamilton, Texas, Hamilton County.

He moved with his family to New Mexico in 1921. He left for Miami, Arizona, October 6, 1924 to get work. He was stricken with pneumonia near Globe, Arizona, Gila County, where he was working. He was taken to the Gila hospital on December 13, 1924 and passed away on December 16, 1924.

The remains were brought to Cedervale, New Mexico and laid to rest on December 21, 1924.

Funeral services were held in his home, nine miles west of Cedervale, by W. K. Twyeffort. Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Rhoads, Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Wright and baby [Byron] came from Lowell, Arizona to attend the funeral.

Besides his wife and daughters, he leaves a father, mother, two brothers and two sisters besides a host of friends to mourn his death.

My name is Donald L Rhoads not Roads. I am the eldest grandson of I W Rhoads not Roads. Isaac Waldo Rhoads married Verona Vay Dansbee on August 5, 1923. I W Rhoads was born Oct. 22, 1901 in Pottsville, TX and he died Feb. 13, 1995 in Stayton, OR. His ashes are in my keeping at this time. Verona Vay Dansbee was born Aug. 5, 1905 in Texhoma, OK and she died July 10, 1995 in Stayton, OR. Her ashes are also in my keeping at this time. Waldo and Verona had only one child; my father; Jerry Waldo Rhoads. J W Rhoads was born Feb. 28, 1929 in Fullerton, CA and currently lives with my younger brother Michael in Klamath Falls, OR

From D L Rhoads, eldest grandson of I W Rhoads and Verona V Dansbee. William Edward Dansbee was born November 25, 1871 and died December 16, 1924. He married Martha Isabel Bryan. She was born Feburary 21, 1871. I do not know when she died. William and Isabel had seven (7) daughters. Bell, Fanny, Eddie, Lottie Wright, Vivian Townsley, Edna, and Verona Vay Rhoads. To the best of my knowledge, all 7 daughters have passed away. My grandmother believed that the family was related to William Jennings Bryan... The only man to run for President of the United States three times and loose all three times. I have been unable to confirm this claim.
