Howard L. Bowman, May 17, 1933 - Jan. 18, 2000, Howard L. BOWMAN, 66, Claypool, died 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at Veterans Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Van Buren to Herschel and Ruth LEE BOWMAN, he married Charlotte M. TROUPE on June 20, 1958. She died Jan. 22, 1997. Mr. Bowman was retired from Conrail after 25 years. A Korean War U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Wabash American Legion, North Manchester Moose Lodge, Warsaw Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Silver Creek Church of God. Survivors include two sons, Charles BOWMAN, Rochester, and Benjamin BOWMAN, Claypool; one daughter, Virginia and husband Tim HOLLOWAY, Claypool; two grandchildren; three sisters, Jean COCHRAN, Marion, Annie LAWSON, Kentucky, and Mary BANTER, Van Buren. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Silver Creek Church of God, rural Silver Lake, with the Rev. Tom CRAIG officiating. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary Silver Lake Chapel, 503 E. Main St., Silver Lake. Memorials may be made to Silver Creek Church of God.
