Etoile Elaine Steglich was born September 30, 1942 to Louie E. and Edna Etoile (Beard) Steglich in Temple, Texas. She graduated from Bartlett High School in May of 1961. She also graduated from Texas Woman's University on May 30, 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Etoile began her teaching career at Avenue D Elementary School in Killeen, Texas. Etoile spent many years helping children with special needs. She was, however, equally devoted to her family. She was never happier than when she could be preparing a graduation party or a wedding party or when she could be shopping for presents for her friends and family. She also enjoyed gardening and travel.
